Good and Terrible
I had a delicious meal that was dirt cheap. That part I liked. It was very crowded and noisy with college kids and the door kept opening and blowing freezing wind through the restaurant making it uncomfortable to stay there. The service wasn't that great but they were busy. If you want cheap good food this is a place to go.

Use Your Noodle
Great food. Great prices. Vegetarian friendly. My only complaint, whenever I go pick up my take out, the "TAKE OUT ONLY" parking spaces are always taken and nobody's standing in line to pick up their food.

Good, cheap eats
Lu Lu's is a great, high quality, very reasonable restaurant. The portions are large, so you'll have enough to take home! They also have great drinks!
Clean, no frills. Cool posters on the walls!
College atmosphere. GREAT hot and sour soup and scallion pancakes!

Very Good Bubble Tea But Consistently Terrible Service
I have been a patron of Lu Lu's at a minimum of 10 visits. Generally I stop in for a quick bubble tea, which is always very good. However, not once have I encountered a friendly employee. In fact on two separate occasions, I arrived at 9:30PM just to grab some bubble tea, received stares when I eyed the drink menu, and after whispers were exchanged between a few employees I was told that they were closed! Unfortunately for them, I knew that they closed at 10PM and was very annoyed. Bubble tea literally takes five minutes or less to prepare!
Lastly, once I stood waiting to be seated for quite some time when the restaurant was nearly empty (as a waitress myself, I understand that things happen, but this was unacceptable). I haven't ever written a review of any business, yet after this final bad experience I felt that I must share my frustration! I absolutely love the bubble tea, but the employees are literally keeping me away from the restaurant now.

Eh Food / Horrifying Service
I'm from LA and while visiting Pittsburgh I had a craving for a good bowl of noodles. By recommendation I visited Lulu's which is a casual joint with neither good food nor good service. Having grown up eating all sorts of Asian food, this place was NOT good and the food I ordered had a very "instant" taste as if it were made from a package. I had never been there before and when I walked in, there was a sign indicating I should order from the counter. I placed my order, paid for my food and took a seat. Around the restaurant there was one other party sitting down eating their food.

When they handed me my food, they had packaged it "to go." I had not ordered "to go" and was irritated since I had even left them a tip when I paid. Nonetheless I sat down to eat my food when a waitress came up to me and told me that to-go orders could not be eaten at the restaurant and that I needed to leave. I told her I had not specified my food to-go and that there were clearly other people eating. The restaurant was not busy and I didn't feel as if I was of any inconvenience. As I continued to eat the food, the other party left and I was one of the last customers. I then realized that the restaurant was closing in about 9:40 and the restaurant was closing at 10. After receiving multiple glares from other waitresses and employees for not leaving, they decided to TURN OUT THE LIGHTS in the restaurant. I was pretty horrified, especially since there was still 20 minutes before it closed. I quickly finished my food in the dark and thought about leaving my trash there, but decided I would at least clean up my mess and take my trash with me and quickly leave the restaurant. Although the food was fairly cheap, I think they approached the situation very poorly and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Love, love, love it!
Love, Love Love it!!!!! Can't beat the price! I have never been disappointed in the many years that I have gone there. It's not the typical American Chinese restaurant. I'm not even sure if they have sweet and sour anything on their menu. Best Pad Thai ever!!!!

good food, disappointing service
Lulu's is located on S. Craig street, amongst a litany of other restaurants.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon. I was seated after only a minute or two, but it took 15 minutes for someone to come and take my order. The wait was so long that I was leaning toward walking out. When the waitress got around to me, she was friendly, and recommended a tasty dish. The entree, a noodle plate with shrimp stuffed dumpling, was good, as mentioned, but the noodles on one portion of the plate were stuck together. It did have a good flavor.

Lulu's is affordable, though it's a little more than Zaw's, while offering food that is at best almost as good as Sq Hill's premier takeout place.

Fashionable Pan-Asian
This is a nice example of high quality Pan-Asian cuisine. The food is fresh, and there is a concerted effort to infuse different interesting flavors within traditional dishes. But this is not for those looking for high quality Asian cuisine, which perfects the basics according to tried and true recipes. In particular I found the won tons and spicy chicken dishes to be quite disappointing. The restaurant has a noisy, but charming, atmosphere with courteous and quick service.

best noodles, ever.
Oh lulu's, how I love theeI have yet to be let down by the staff, the food or the company. I don't imagine I ever will be. Where else can one get such an amazing amount of fantastic food for so little. I'll tell you: Nowhere.
