A Slice of Heaven
I have lived everywhere in the U.S. all my life. Both my parents were born and raised in Pittsburgh. At least 4 times a year, my family and I make the 8 hour driveand Beto's is ALWAYS our first stop!! The cold cheese mixed with the warm thick crust causes this amazing and refreshing flavor to explode in your mouth. The sauce is thick and full of tomato chunks like real, homemade pizza sauce is meant to be. And at about $1.50 a slice, you never break your bank getting a good mouthfull taste of Pittsburgh.
The parking lot isn't ideal, but it never seems to stop me from enjoying myself while I'm there. I've been an avid Beto's lover for at least 10 years. And before I make that 8 hour drive back to TN, I always stop and buy Beto's, with the cheese on the side. It'll only last 2 days in my fridge at home, but it's a highlight to any trip up North.

At one time, Beto's was the BEST..!
I have been visiting this Pizza Powerhouse since 1965. Yes. almost 45 years. This was by far, the best fresh and unique pizza ever made. Sadly, for the last 10 years their pizza has been so inconsistent, I can now only eat the Italian Hoagie's that are well done. The 28 cut pizza trays are now way, way overdone. The dough is now, burnt on the bottom, in most places. This erases that great, fresh baked, "Italian Bread", YEASTY, flavor in the dough. Like the fresh bread, the great, MANCINNI's bread bakery, creates on a daily, very consistent basis, in McKees Rocks Pajust down the river. So Jimmyalways serve your pizza's crust, on the "RARE" side and that Drop Dead, 1960's, 70's and 80's, BETO's PIZZA, magic will be back!

Your Friend,

Spoonz

Don't get me started
I went to try this pizza. It was original and interesting and good. They were still remodeling the eating area. I sat down with a number and waited for my pizza. I looked at what others were eating. It was good pizza, good tasting pepperoni with some cheese thrown on it
Some brothers from the hood didn't like me looking at them. On there way out they yelled at me, "YO, WHAT ARE YOU LOOKIN AT, THIS IS BETO'S PIZZA HERE!" Everyone stared at me to my embarassment. I went back later and there weren't any hoods there. I liked the pizza, but rough crowd. JEESH!

If you like cold pizza w/ 10 tons of unmelted cheese ....
You have to buy it by the slice so there is no chance you'll be getting a fresh hot slice "Pizza" comes slapped down in front of you drowning in cold unmelted cheese and cold canned toppings. At least I know why they don't offer sausage topping, THEY WOULD HAVE TO COOK IT!

I decided to bring the pizza home and heat it in my oven trying to make the best of $16 thrown out the window. By the time I got home, the extra extra extra cheese had sorta melded (notice I didn't say melted as the crust was barely warm at serving) in to a mass of grossness. I ended up picking off most of the cheese and trying to heat up the original pizza and toppings In the end I just gave up, disgusted.

All pizza is not created equal, that would be like saying all barbeque sauce taste the same.
Some Mom and pop operations work hard to put out a good pie. The pizza pretenders start with a ready made shell ,when you see that, RUN!
Stay away from assembly line food with prefabricated ingredients, places that can afford a television commercial , can not afford quality ingredients . A homemade crust is the foundation that holds the succulent toppings. The sauce must be the neutralizer , not to spicy, not to sweet
the cheese is the most important ingredient . When you get these things right , you do not even need crazy toppings. all this comes together at
Beto's pizza on Banksville rd. no deliveries pick up only .

Greatest Pizza in Pittsburgh
I grew up on Beto's Pizza. The fantastic sauce loaded with melted and half melted cheese is a treat to experience. Once you try it, you'll be hooked!

WORST!!! Pizza ever
I have lived in Greentree for over 2 years and have heard rave reviews of this Pizza Pusher, so I decided after much procrastination to give it a try.
This was quite possibly, no I would say definately the WORST Pizza I have ever had. The crust tasted, well cardboard tastes better, no flavor in the sauce, raw cheese, and I paid 45cents per slice for CANNED Green Peppers, canned not fresh, not even warm for that matter. I waited 15 minutes for raw pizza??? To top that off I had to cook my pizza for 30 more minutes when I got home, 2 minutes up the road

Uggggh... Are you kidding me??!
I am sorry. but I am an avid pizza fan! I kept reading about how Beto's is the BEST in the Burgh LIES LIES LIES LIES LIES! I went there at like 2:00 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. WAITED FOREVER There weren't even that many people in front of me I was so excited because I love that style pizza. But then they slopped cold cheese all over it I thought maybe it was something new and different I would like. NOPE GROSS! I tasted it and it had absolutely NO flavor The sauce tasted like someone opened up a can of crushed tomatoes and just slathered them all over some plain crust No flavoring AT ALL Then I drove a MILE home And it was cold already I just hated it I could not eat one piece That's how awful it was. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL. Take a drive over the hill and go to Fiori's. Their pizza is PHENOMINAL.
